Education and Development
- Education, Advocacy and Development (ED) (SDG-4 Quality Education)
Education remains one of the most powerful tools for social and economic transformation in Ghana. While the country has made significant progress in expanding access to basic education, many communities—especially in rural and underserved areas—still face challenges such as inadequate learning infrastructure, limited teaching and learning materials, high dropout rates, and disparities in quality of education. Africa Initiative for Development (AID) recognizes that sustainable development begins with empowering individuals through knowledge, skills, and opportunities for lifelong learning.

The Education and Development programme of AID focuses on improving access to quality education, strengthening learning environments, and promoting inclusive educational opportunities for children and young people. The programme supports school infrastructure improvements, teacher and learner capacity-building, literacy and numeracy enhancement, and community-based education initiatives. It also emphasizes character development, life skills education, and the integration of technology and innovation in learning.
By collaborating with schools, community leaders, local authorities, and development partners,

AID seeks to address educational inequalities and support the development of a skilled and informed generation. Through this programme, AID contributes to Ghana’s national education priorities and global development goals by ensuring that every child and young person has the opportunity to learn, grow, and contribute meaningfully to society.
